2000 engine miss at idle

I have a misfire on cyl 6 according the guys at AutoZone. The problem is that it’s not consistent. If I’m in stop and go traffic or sitting at a red light for long period of time it misses bad. I can clear it up by putting the car in neutral and holding it at 3000rpm for a few seconds. At normal speed it runs great, the check engine light even shut off yesterday. Then I warmed the car up before work and the light was back on but I didn’t notice anything until I was at a traffic light again. It only seems to happen at idle. So far I have moved the coil pack from 6 to 3 with no change. If I unplug the coils one at a time the engine has a noticeable miss except on 6. When I unplug that one the motor doesn’t really change much, if at all? Is it possible that I have an injector that’s not operating all of the time? Like I said most of the time the car runs great. .

Any help would be great!

John

Sorry this is a DOHC motor with the individual coil packs.
