A friend and I will both buy a '91 240SX hatch soon. So I'm coming up with some questions. Who knows some good cheap mods to the CA (aimed poweroutput of ~200hp) for me as I'm going to replace it anyway with a SR as soon as I got some money again! And some nice effective mods for my friend (he stays with the CA)?

Oh and we're from Europe so if you mention aftermarket parts - shipping from states is more then 500 US$:(

Any informations appreciated.

if you want 200 brake you can get it by the the following:

Air Intake
Exhaust
Intercooler (Volvo/Saab like we've discussed)
Spark Plugs
Adjustable Actuator or Boost Controller

if you get all that you'll reach 200 bhp no problem.. my friend has a S13 200sx and he has all the above.. he has it on a rolling road runnin 10 Psi and he had 210 bhp so at about 14 Psi you could be pushin 210 - 225 bhp

Speak to some of the UK tunin sites and I'm sure the postage wouldn't be that much especially if you get it all from one place.. you could even have a look on ebay cos you can pick stuf up so cheap on there!!! ;)

Thanks for the fast input. What about a 3'' downpipe? is it worth the legalizing?

Yeah a downpipe will always help but the things I listed are the first things to go for then you might wanna get some shox/springs and some strut bars to inmprove the handling cos their isn't much point havin a fast car and not being about to control it! just somethin to think about :)

I understand what you mean Paul - my problem is only that I wanted to do all at once which is just a dream 'cause I'm starting studying in October and won't be able to earn vasts of money that fast. So I'll start with the SHOW and then GO. The paperwork for the SR swap here in Zurich would be already one fifth of my budget right now:(

SOMEONE got other ideas?

Just curious, why do you need to fill out paperwork for the swap?

If I swap in the SR I change displacement, weight and power of the car.
so

1st Insurance depends on displacement.
2nd I have to registrate the new engine and it's power-output
3th I have to smoke it
4th A noise test! (have to remain below ~90dB)

all in all more than 1k US$
