thats funny I guess they were thinking of a/c evaparator which makes no sense the malfuction light only detects faults that affect emmisions .. If you pop your hood you will see a green cap on a tee that leads to the purge solenoid that tee is the service port you apply pressure to the fuel systerm to check for pressure lost , the code you have could be several things the most common failed part is the vent control valve and the canister but it sounds like you need a vaccum cut valve and it is expensive for how cheap it looks around 50 bucks
