Bad Transmission or Wheel Barring ProblemBikeman1010 02-26-2006, 09:14 PM A little while ago my car started makeing a funnie squeeking sound comming from the wheels it sounded like. if i went around 20 MPH you could really hear it but if you go faster it goes away. IT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN I TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE GAS AND BEGIN TO SLOW DOWN. I have ignored the sound and now its making a knocking noise with my foot on the pedal, but one again only on once in a while. It cant be my brakes because i just got the fixed too. Could it bee my wheel barrings or my transmission or maby my differencial. Someone Please Help tubjub 02-27-2006, 12:44 AM dont mean to sound bad, but are you hard on your car ? is it a 5-sp ? auto ? because i have some advice if you're hard on it. lol abrittis 02-27-2006, 01:11 PM A little while ago my car started makeing a funnie squeeking sound comming from the wheels it sounded like. if i went around 20 MPH you could really hear it but if you go faster it goes away. Someone Please Help My three initial suspects (in no particular order) 1) A wheel bearing, 2) if it is a front wheel drive, ('86 or newer) a CV joint, 3) brake calipar is sticking a little and causing the brake pads to rub against the rotor a little too tight. Anthony Bikeman1010 02-27-2006, 03:06 PM i mean im a little harsh on the car... but who isnt. Its a 94 toyota Celica with an auto trans. but it seems the problem changed, insted of a squeeky noise when going slow its a clunk noise when im goin about 45 and i give it a little gas. if i let of the gas it stops. 1st 2nd and 3rd if im slowly accelerating are fine its just when im crusing at 45 50.
