I just purchased a 2000 avalon xls and it only had one key and no keyless remote. I 'm looking at buying one on ebay, but I need to know my FCC ID, How do I find out what mine is?

There are 2 types of remotes used on the 2000 Avalon.

The FACTORY system uses FCC: HYQ12BAN

The DEALER / PORT installed system (RS3200) uses FCC: BAB237131-056

If you don't know which system your Avalon has installed, you can contact your local Toyota dealership's parts department with your VIN number, and they can confirm it for you.

I called the dealer and they say they can't look anything up from the VIN. I have a 99 xls. my manual says that I would have to use the specific FCC number in the book but I can't find them any where other than a dealership but they want premo money for them.
