It just keep turning over and takes long time to start, I changed fuel filter, seems doesn't help. I added fuel injector cleaner and COLD Start gas treatment, it worksed and easier to start my jeep. But when I stop using it the problem comes back. What am I gonna do? I don't wanna use fuel injector cleaner once a tank. Any idea?

What year is it? I had to replace the spark plugs in my 93 Jeep GJ last year and had a mechanic clean out the built up carbon in the engine since I was having problems starting it up. Sounds like there could be a build up since when you do add the cleaner it starts up.

It's 93 model, I changed spark plugs, wires and distributor cap half a year ago. So you think it's the carbon built up in the engine? I may go to jiffy luby ask them to do it, thx.

A friend who knows a lot about Jeeps told me he thought it was the throttle body that needed cleaned up but after cleaning it, it still wasn't happening and it ended up just being really built up. I doubt it had been cleaned out since it was bought either.

You may be having the same problem that a lot of others are having seems to be a common one. IF you just turn the key on can you here the fuel pump relay and fuel pump engage and pump fuel? and is your check engine light coming on?

I can hear the fuel pump and the relay when I turned key on. and no checking engine light on. Whenever I use fuel cleaner and gas treatment it works fine, easy start. but I don't wanna use it every tank of gas.

If you wait a while does the check engine light come on? If so try starting it to see if it starts right away. It may be the PCM or Fuel Pressure Problem, Try Taking a Fule Pressure Reading on The Valve On Fuel Rail should have 30-40 lbs pressure. You can get a pressure kit at Autozone or advance Auto for around 10.00- 20.00. Read some of the other post, Others are having similar problems and most the time it is the PCM.

No, the check engine light will come on and then go off when the jeep is started. I will test pressure, thx

I didn't notice this, I ll have a look and let you know. It shoud be on or not?
If it does turn on, does it mean that PCM is ok?

I'm not an expert on this but yes if it comes on as soon as you turn the key on it should be operational. There are other ways to determine what the problem is, If your check engine light comes on as soon as you turn the key on you can turn your key on and off 3-times and leave it on the 3rd time and the check engine light will flash a set number of times. Count the number of flashes, this is your error code diagnostic for any ignition or electrical problems controlled by the PCM.

I have fought this problem for almost a year. I replaced every sensor possible on the car. I replaced all plug wires, dist cap, rotor, and everything else you can think of only to have the problem continue and it was worse in cold weather. Well I finally decided to replace the coil even though it checked out ok. That was the problem. Now my 93 JGC Laredo starts immediately and runs betterv than it has for years. Maybe I can get another 235K miles out of it. Tip of the day: REPLACE THE COIL.
