Mitsubishi Evo IV - lots of picsLurchio 02-23-2006, 05:06 PM This is my most recent build and I believe it is my best work yet. This is the Hasewaga kit - my first - interesting build! Suspension is slammed front and rear, front disks are from Subaru pit crew set with Supra callipers (and p/e discs which I think are round the wrong way round). Rear discs are from Impreza kit (with p/e fronts). Wheels are from Focus WRC (which I modified and is posted here at same time). Had to cut down width of wheels and tyres due to tiny wheel wells in Hasewaga kit! Cut down was a bit rough but you can't really tell unless you flip it over. I'm really pleased with the stance but it's a bit impractical. Bonnet and grille mouldings were removed and replaced with Tamiya mesh. Repaired front splitter (snapped in kit). Exhaust tip is actually an electrical connector cut down and sprayed with Alclad Colour is Tamiya Lime green with plenty of pearl clear over the top. Interior is stock seat painted semi gloss red with red inserts in the black rears. For the first time I coloured the edges of the headlight lenses and really pleased with the effect. Also BMF'd behind all the lights. Stained exhaust is a first for me as well. I'm really pleased with this kit, it is my best work yet but not without errors - There's a fingerprint in the front wing (just get the dust out when the paint is dry!!!), panel lines are a bit rough in places (time to change to washes instead of marker!) and decal solution bled through into clear but this doesn't really show! Apologies for the amount of pics but really couldn't narrow it down anymore (I have loads more) but as you can tell I'm pretty proud of this kit! Thanks again for looking! http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e217/Lurchio1976/DSC00498.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e217/Lurchio1976/DSC00499.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e217/Lurchio1976/DSC00491.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e217/Lurchio1976/DSC00496.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e217/Lurchio1976/DSC00493.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e217/Lurchio1976/DSC00492.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e217/Lurchio1976/DSC00494.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e217/Lurchio1976/DSC00495.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e217/Lurchio1976/DSC00489.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e217/Lurchio1976/DSC00486.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e217/Lurchio1976/DSC00488.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e217/Lurchio1976/DSC00514.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e217/Lurchio1976/DSC00513.jpg iceracer1 02-23-2006, 05:28 PM Looks great and nice shine on it! But I had painted the wheels white instead of the plastic colour... But your good working! Kris. Thanks - wheels are actually painted white (TS-26) You should be proud! It's a very nice project!! Thanks again, means a lot to me, big fan of your work! snk33y 02-24-2006, 07:27 AM Fantastic Evo! paint work looks flawless, panel lines are just right.Personally i think this build would be close to perfect. Only thing that i can suggest is the wheel nuts,i feel that it lacks that last bit of final detail.Iwould have run a black wash around the wheel nuts then painted the wheel nuts silver,it would have really picked out the detail on the wheels, it would compliment the nice set of disk brakes that you used. I can appreciate the work that you have put in this car, i know what its like to make these car sit just right, i built the Hasegawa EVO III and the tyres and ride height just didnt look right. Keep up the good work! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
