Chirping from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd.Wolfgang97838 02-21-2006, 11:56 PM I have a 2000 Ram 1500. When I shift from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd it chirps. The fan clutch, water pump, serpintine belt, have all been replaced with no help:banghead:. The mechanic swears it's a belt slipping but I have asked him about the clutch or throwout bearing since it makes the chirping sound when the clutch is almost all the way out. He says no, it would happen as soon as the clutch was pushed in and in every gear. He said no to the possibility of it being in the power steering. I can baby it so it won't chirp but it is kind of hard to do it all of the time, espically starting on a hill, and it is annoying. I am at my wits end...PLEASE HELP!!! fredjacksonsan 02-23-2006, 10:30 AM Hold on....you hinted that it chirps also when you are starting and going up a hill....solution: get someone outside the vehicle to have a listen when you're starting off, going up a hill. They should be able to find the location of the noise rather quickly. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
