My own DelSol (1:24)pjesus 02-21-2006, 09:36 AM Hi, guys. This is my first "completed" thread here at AF. I just finished a 1:24 DelSol (Fujimi), built to be a sort-of-exact replica of my own 1:1 DelSol. to make it as accurate as possible (within my own limitations ;)) here's a small list of modifications I had to do... - fog lights (front: removed; rear: scratchbuilt) - scratchbuilt wing - dash and console adapted to left-steering-wheel - interior door handles - steering wheel (4 spokes to 3) - wheels adapted to look more like the original ones - front brakes: calipers moved - rear brakes: disc -> drum - custom exhaust tip A short overview of the building process... Light body mods http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/20051026_corpo.jpg http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/20051226_varios.jpg Scratchbuilding the wing... http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/20051226_aileron.jpg Brakes and steering wheel transform, seats filling and cleaning up some mess... http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/20060109_varios.jpg Interior (changed console, door handles, added radio, mats, belts, etc...) http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/20060115_interior.jpg And now some finished photos... http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/20060220_delsol_1_24_4b_294.jpg http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/20060220_delsol_1_24_3b_195.jpg http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/20060220_delsol_1_24_2b_117.jpg http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/20060220_delsol_1_24_1b_127.jpg http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/20060220_delsol_1_24_5_144.jpg http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/20060220_delsol_1_24_6_164.jpg I'd really like your opinion :) Cheers, Tiago eph2 02-21-2006, 10:15 AM Looks Perfect.. cham2020 02-21-2006, 10:35 AM nice build yo have there !! anyway, i am confuse about how u do the bodylines ? pjesus 02-21-2006, 11:03 AM Thanks, eph2 ;) cham2020, the panel lines were done with gouache (water paints) and a #000 brush. Not perfect but acceptable, imho. It was the first time I painted them, anyway :) sileightsix 02-21-2006, 01:48 PM Oh wow, I really like this. Excellent body modifications, and really a very accurate replica. Well done! May I ask what color the body was painted? Mean_B16 02-21-2006, 02:13 PM Nice job on the replication! I really like the shot of your 1:1 in the background of the 1:24, really brings out the comparison. good job. Bossolani 02-21-2006, 02:31 PM Tiago congratulations!!! Its the same a original car!!!! Very hard job brow!!!! Cesar Bossolani www.scaleimportracer.com pjesus 02-21-2006, 02:54 PM Hi, all! sileightsix, I painted it with Tamiya's TS-26 Pure White. No exaaaactly the same white as the real one, but hey... it's white, right? ;) Mean B16, all the photos were taken this morning before going to work, I'm glad they were not that bad. That one was taken with the model on the backseat of the bike :D César, obrigado! I'm looking forward to seeing your Delsol finished ;) Cheers, Tiago blubaja 02-21-2006, 08:24 PM Nice job on the mods man. Keep up the great work! NissanSkylineGTR98 02-21-2006, 08:54 PM Very nice! Its evident that you put a lot of effort into this kit to replicate the real thing. I too hope to build a replica of my car...when I get one:D 0tobe60in10minutes 02-21-2006, 09:04 PM wow really nice build. i love two seaters. its to bad i cant replicate my car(s):uhoh: Feint Motion 02-21-2006, 09:06 PM Hot Sole! ATMDC 02-22-2006, 01:17 AM i really like this, its my girlfriends favorite car. what did you use for the 3rd tail light? digitalbanzai 02-22-2006, 03:15 AM Looks the same to me. :) Wheelin75r 02-22-2006, 03:44 AM Wow, you have an eye for details! pjesus 02-22-2006, 05:22 AM Hi, everybody! Thanks, Frank, I'll try to keep up the slow work :) Yeah, Steve, a lot of effort. Get one and replicate it, it's a great feeling, specially if you love it as much as I love this one! :) 0tobe60, why can't you replicate them? ATMDC, so it's a girl's car, uhm?!? :iceslolan Just kiddin'... I really love it, although I'm mainly a motorcycle freak... Regarding your question, the "3rd tail light" is a fog light, I used a bit of clear sprue (the part with the letter, which is flat), painted clear red, with dark aluminum behind it. Thanks also to Feint Motion, digitalbanzai and Wheelin75r for the comments. k20_chris 02-22-2006, 11:42 PM nice im a honda lover my self like the 3rd break light D[X]P 02-23-2006, 12:47 AM nice replica pjesus 02-23-2006, 08:41 AM D[X]P, thanks :) k20_chris, it's not a brake light, but rather a fog light ;) The 3rd brake light on the DelSol would be located (mine doesn't have it) on the "lip" above the rear window (you can't tell from the photo but there is a lid for it) Today I took some pics of the interior, hope you like them... http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/20060223_delsol_1_24_1_167.jpg http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/20060223_delsol_1_24_2_402.jpg http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/20060223_delsol_1_24_3_170.jpg Thanks for watching, Tiago vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
