Are they in the same league, cause i hear stories of both of the cars beating each other. Mostly depends on driver.

Spec V wins off the line, but the RSX will very quickly pull ahead. It all depends on how LONG the race is.

I dont know...to 60 I might give it to the RSX Type S b/c it's kinda built for quick acceleration...not saying that the Spec V is a slouch...but I dont think it can pull the same 0-60 in 6.5 seconds as SCC says...I think the Spec V pulls it in 7.4 or something like that...

But again...that's paper and tests done by SCC...not real world...so who knows?

Yeh i dont trust magizine performance all the time cause i did race an rsx type-s w/my spec v and beat it twice. He had an intake too, im all stock we raced to about 70 mph and i still had him. I also know other people who raced these cars too and had the same results. I'd like to see these two races in actino though. If anyone knows where to get a video let me know.

zane11
07-12-2002, 08:50 AM
Thats a good point around a couple grand different in price and i hear of spec v's winning. I think i no my pick.

the driver was probaly a bad driver cuz i dont really think a spec V can beat a rsx type S juss look at the 1/4 mile and 0-60 times the rsx is better.dont get me wrong the ser spec V is still a tyte car.dats juss my opinion. No wait its a fact.

zane11
07-21-2002, 10:44 PM
Well i think its an incorrect fact there both awsome cars rsx type s lackks HEAVY in torque. And my eyes saw them race

LIL_CHIMPEE91

this is wat i read and heard bout the rsx type S and the spec V

1/4
Rsx type S-15.2
Sentra spec V-15.6

0-60
Rsx type S-6.9
Sentra spec V-7.6

zane11
07-21-2002, 11:20 PM
Yes some magz have it as 7.6 but this autoweek show and motortrend have it at 6.9.

Race them maybe it was the driver i dont no.

LIL_CHIMPEE91
07-22-2002, 07:20 PM
if u race the 1/4 mile the rsx would win cuz it got a better time.Every mag sayz the 1/4 of the rsx is around 15.2-15.4 and the spec V is around 15.6-15.9.There still close.the rsx would win by a little.:)

zane11
07-22-2002, 10:44 PM
Yes believe me i no what the mag says but i witnessed it. And the rsx type s also had an exhaust the spec v kills it in torque.

But maybe it was the drivers i have no idea. I dont wanna try to make this sound like an argument both cars rock

LIL_CHIMPEE91

ur ryte both the rsx and spec V r tyte!!!!!!better than all the competition.

zane11
07-23-2002, 11:21 PM
Yeh definitly they are the best in there class i think

Personally I think the SVT focus is better than the Spec V, since it has better grip, lateral gs, slalom speed, braking. Basically all aspects except acceleration (15.7 1/4 mile) and # of doors.

Heh, I didn't mean beefed up Sentra in a mean way...

Spec V's kick ass, I wanted one for a long time... And I dunno if it would kick my ass, I imagine it would be kinda close *shrugs*

Anyone own a Spec V who lives near Temecula/Escondido/Lake Elsinore California? I'll run ya :)

I beleive that the spec-v stock would beat the rsx because it has mor torque and frrom wat i've seen off dyno tests about the same hp
go to magnaflow.com and check catback systrems for the rsx and look at the dyno tests.
Also the spec v will have better handling because of the limited slip.

Ive raced a Spec V a million times with my RSX-S. My best friend has a Spec V. If I fuck up my launch he will beat me. Well depending on how far we race. Stop light to stop light its all on the launch. The V has a better low and and the S has a better high end. Ive also driven his car and the S is an all around better car. The handeling on the Spec V is great tho.

magazines say their times range from 15.3-15.7.....
but some people in these forums, their best times are like 15.0-15.1
the best time i heard was 14.9 with a CAI

I have an Acura Rsx Type-S, and I have beaten a few spec-v. I thought of buying one before I bought my S. It is a great car, but I have yet to lose to one. The spec-V will beat a base RSX with no problems, but a type-s ? I don't think so.:)

zane11
08-22-2002, 10:54 AM
Well I raced 2 rsx type s's and beat both of them and the one twice so I think it depends on driver I guess.

babyskyline
08-23-2002, 01:21 PM
Let me go ahead and just droopppp in on this one. Now I'm not here to aruge or nothing like that. But I ran two different RSX TypeS and I beat them all the time. I ran both of the them twice each time. If it depends on the driver then they have alot of practing to do, because on one of the runs he had a little bit off the line, then once I hit second that's when I pulled on him, BAD the whole time. I mean he said that he messed and BLAH BLAH BLAH. But I told the guy if you had messed up then you would have at least looked like you should have pulled a little but he didn't. No matter what people say, these cars can either hang or beat a Type S. Clash of the Titans.

pinyoot4you
10-02-2002, 01:06 PM
the rsx-s cost around 5k more than the spec v

babyskyline
10-02-2002, 01:24 PM
I don't know about the just the RSX, but the TypeS is about $23,000.

pinyoot4you

the base rsx starts at around 18.5-19k i believe, i'm not totally sure though
