Squeak at rear of vulcan engine (2001)bjbosche 02-20-2006, 03:03 PM I have a squeak at the rear of my 2001 Taurus engine (vulcan). It is definately away from the belts and seems to be coming from the vicinity of the throttle and throttle body. No check engine lights, oil ok, tranny fluid ok. Any ideas? way2old 02-20-2006, 04:02 PM Hghly possible it is the camshaft positioing sensor. These sit under the air intake hose just below the throttle body. joe92k1500 02-21-2006, 09:23 AM Had the exact problem on my old 01 ses vulcan. Dealer replaced the CPS syncro, and the sensor itself. The syncro was causing the squeaking and the sensor was also bad. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
