Mean_B16 02-20-2006, 01:59 PM Welcome to AF! I always pos in a WIP civic thread when I see one. It's hard to say w/o seeing it all the way painted but I am thinking you may have molded to much making it look more like a toy than a real car (i.e. the grille and fog lights) but until I see a pic after the paint it is hard to tell. As far as your question on how to make the seat not look glossy? that is the most basic thing in modeling, just use flat paint and check the FAQs because it will answer about 1001 of your questions before you ever have to ask them:smokin: good luck on the finished product! I am probably one of the most avid Honda builders on this forum so you can feel free to check out my site (in my sig) for ideas. 0tobe60in10minutes 02-20-2006, 02:01 PM doesnt look that bad for your first putty job. however when you painted the body, did you do one big heavy coat? usually you just want to lightly cover the car then go back about 2-5min later and do another light coat. then 2-5 min give it a heavier coat and let it dry. this helps with the paint settling, and applying, etc good job irnintoprkedcars 02-20-2006, 02:06 PM yeah, i went crazy with the putty, and after i did the front grill, i looked at it and i thought to myself "shit i shouldnt have done that" on the primer i did 3 coats of primer, and on the body i did one light coat and one heavier coat, and i am about to go get the third coat on there. MITeggy17 02-20-2006, 04:05 PM Coming along nicely, I just bought that kit! irnintoprkedcars 02-20-2006, 05:26 PM its a nice kit and revell gives you a nice selection of wheels. the front bumper on the body kit is pretty gay looking, but the stock front bumper looks nice. i took the stock front bumper and cut the lower grill out (took forever with the exacto knife) and cut the little fins off of the back bumper. i am planning to put the mesh from the aftermarket bumper in the hole that is now on the front bumper. irnintoprkedcars 02-20-2006, 05:27 PM its a nice kit and revell gives you a nice selection of wheels. the front bumper on the body kit is pretty gay looking, but the stock front bumper looks nice. i took the stock front bumper and cut the lower grill out (took forever with the exacto knife) and cut the little fins off of the back bumper. i am planning to put the mesh from the aftermarket bumper in the hole that is now on the front bumper. irnintoprkedcars 02-21-2006, 03:29 PM i have some updates on the civic. after applying about 5 coats of paint, i realized that gray primer isnt the best color to have under yellow paint and pretty much just gave up on this car. i have it 99% completed, all i have to do is paint the window moldings. but here are some pics of the build along the way. painted front lip and mirrors black http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d81/irnintoprkedcars/Civic%20Model/93e3294c.jpg mesh in front grill http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d81/irnintoprkedcars/Civic%20Model/1897038c.jpg interior dash http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d81/irnintoprkedcars/Civic%20Model/45227652.jpg engine bay http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d81/irnintoprkedcars/Civic%20Model/c952471c.jpg (http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d81/irnintoprkedcars/Civic%20Model/1897038c.jpg) underbody 1 http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d81/irnintoprkedcars/Civic%20Model/99085dcd.jpg Underbody 2 http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d81/irnintoprkedcars/Civic%20Model/Picture029.jpg Underbody 3 http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d81/irnintoprkedcars/Civic%20Model/Picture030.jpg all of underbody http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d81/irnintoprkedcars/Civic%20Model/Picture033.jpg interior http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d81/irnintoprkedcars/Civic%20Model/Picture034.jpg front with lights on http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d81/irnintoprkedcars/Civic%20Model/Picture035.jpg side http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d81/irnintoprkedcars/Civic%20Model/Picture036.jpg back http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d81/irnintoprkedcars/Civic%20Model/Picture037.jpg vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
