Mitsubishi Mirage Asti Coupekaho 02-20-2006, 02:01 AM It started as a finished model of a Hasegawa Evo4. It was a decent build, but I didn't use primer, wheels were oversized (fujimi Evo5 wheels), and it just could be made better. Therefore I cut the body up into several pieces to start the progress of this coupe. Entire body cut and shortened 3mm, so are the chassis needed to be cut. And then the roof needs to be shortened by 6mm. The C pillars were sanded flat to meet the roof then reshaped using more plastic. The hood vents were sanded flat and paneled off the openings. A small front grill is cut. Right now only one side of the front bumper is sanded flat, will do the other next time. Chassis and roof is taken from a broken Evo5 body. B pillar was cut off the body, then cut again in half, then the front half was installed back onto the body farther back. Very very initial steps now. http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b168/kaho4g94/pic001.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b168/kaho4g94/pic002.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b168/kaho4g94/pic003.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b168/kaho4g94/pic004.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b168/kaho4g94/pic005.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b168/kaho4g94/pic006.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b168/kaho4g94/pic007.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b168/kaho4g94/pic008.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b168/kaho4g94/pic009.jpg Thank you. 0tobe60in10minutes 02-20-2006, 02:14 AM thats crazy!!! looks good so far.. what r ur plans for the end result? cham2020 02-20-2006, 03:10 AM kaho strikes again with modified street mitsubishi's !!! kaho i will be following this one closely too :D eph2 02-20-2006, 06:48 AM Nice Idea!! The project is looking good!! willimo 02-20-2006, 11:56 AM Here we go again! Your builds are always stellar. Wheee! blubaja 02-20-2006, 05:10 PM Good luck on this man! kaho 03-02-2006, 07:36 PM Used Milliput to make the shape of what the new headlights need to be, then used the mould as a stencil to cut a different headlight lens with. Turns out the AMT eclipse headlights are very similar to the Mirage Asti. I was thinking of making a single piece headlights (headlights and corners), but none of my other headlights are both long enough and contains a similar shape. Looks like I will stick with what I have now. Apparently the fitment seems perfect! http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b168/kaho4g94/pic011.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b168/kaho4g94/pic013.jpg tonioseven 03-02-2006, 08:38 PM :sunglasse (No words!) kaho 03-03-2006, 04:05 AM Thank you for the kind words and speechless expressions ;). Was kind of in a rush while I was posting, so here are some more details: 0tobe60in10minutes: I expect the car to look more stock than my last project, which means no CF hood nor trunk(but I am still contemplating on the Evo4 style bumper lip in body color) I would put on as little decals as possible, except the OEM stickers. Front bumper revert to mirage non Evo, rear smooth out the lower lip, also the side skirts. The hood is cut open. It was originally for myself to be able to work on the headlights with less obstruction, but since it is off already, I might go the extra mile to fit an engine underneath. The problem is what engine  cham2020 03-03-2006, 04:28 AM Thank you for the kind words and speechless expressions ;).
