i have a 96 pathy. when the distribitor went bad a po420 showed up, fixed that code gone, next when the water was low it produced 3 codes one being po420. filled the resevour and all codes cleared now out of the blue po420 shows up again, i thought it was a glitch and cleared it and low and behold its back. the guys at auto zone says it could be my co2 sensor. any ideas???
in the last few weeks ive put a thousand dollers into it getting it all fixed and now this. the pathy runs great so im confused as hell as to why it shows up now :banghead:

ok after a few days the light went out (figures i was taking it to the shop tomorrow) is this just a glitch that pathy's have now and then or should i just send it in to have it looked at??

i had a code 420 and 430 talked to my service manager. there is a service bullitan out about this stating do not replace any parts. for $86 the dealer needs to reprogram your ecm that is the only problem. dont change any parts there is no problem besides when the ecm was manufacured.

just for my info did you change it yourself and the light went off or did the dealer change it and reset the light. im just trying to figure out if my friend (service manager) knows what he is talking about

i changed it myself and the light went out 2 minutes after i started it up and never came back on

i talked to a nissan mechanic and he said that code is for the front bank 02 and its usually bad and to replace it. if it had been a code that had to do with the rear bank then the catylist converter would be the problem. he never said anything about about having to reprogram the ecm
