I've lost one of my key for this car. To save some money I looked around and found similar remote on eBay. FCC ID ELVAT 6B and FCC ID ELVATOE, this is the new replacement for 6B. I've bought the instructions for programming, after found on internet as well.:banghead:
I know there are 2 types of security system built into these cars.GQ43VT7T is for the factory remote system and uses the jumping 2 pins on mirror adjusment switch. The other is the RS3000/VIP system, which uses a different programming, closing opening doors etc. [external link removed by moderator]
None of them worked for me so far. :banghead:
I've found the main security module, Part number 00014-S0200.
Please help me!!!!!:disappoin
I wanted to save money because the dealer asking $40 for programming.:2cents:

Thanks!

Here you go. Hope this helps.
--------------------------------------------
PROGRAMMING ADDITIONAL or REPLACEMENT TRANSMITTERS

Each SECURIKEY+ system can be operated by up to four (4) different
SECURIKEY+ transmitters. The system is supplied from the factory with two
(2) transmitters included, and additional transmitters are available through
parts distribution. Any new or replacement transmitters will need to be
programmed to the main control module before they will activate the system.
The SECURIKEY+ main control module uses a six (6) channel radio frequency
receiver; each channel controlling a different function of the SECURIKEY+
system. Each transmitter button can be programmed to only one of the
receiver channels (e.g., the GREEN button cannot be programmed to operate
the headlight feature and remote start option; it can operate only one or
the other feature). The following is a list of each receiver channel, and
the function of each channel.

CHANNEL # FEATURE CONTROLLED BY THIS CHANNEL
1 Lock
2 Unlock
3 Trunk Release (optional kit required; not available on all models)
4 30 second headlight activation (only if required by GREEN button)
5 Remote panic (only if required by GREEN button instead of LOCK
button)
6 Remote start (optional kit required; not available on all models)

To program new or additional transmitters, or when adding options to
existing SECURIKEY+ transmitters, follow the step by step programming
instructions found below. When programming, it is important to complete each
step of the procedure within 15 seconds, or the system will terminate the
programming mode. If this happens, simply start again.

I've tried it and works. However... I made a mistake.
First of all, when I press and release the L.E.D. valet switch after the 4th push the horn chirps 2 times and the L.E.D. flashes 2 times. Basically nothing else happens but you can go through the program steps by pushing twice the switch. So Iíve ignored this and continued pushing the switch 2 more times, until the sum of 6, and started the programming. I did not watch however, how many times the L.E.D. flashed so I programmed the remote lock button to turn the headlight on for 30 min. After that I could not reprogram the lock button to the right way. Is there any way to reset the alarm system to reprogram the remote the right way?
I'm so sorry but this happened.:uhoh:file:///C:/DOCUME%7E1/molmik/LOCALS%7E1/Temp/msohtml1/01/clip_image001.gif

First of all, I am happy for you that you got it to work. congrats. I still remember the first time when I had my sucess, it feels so good. I was so pissed with the manager at the dealership that I would provide all sequence for free, no matter what kind of toyota remote you have. Here I am. :)

secondly, what you can try is to exit all programming mode and reprogram the remote. I am sick at the moment and do not have much time to look at the sequence. But anyways, if that doesn't work, you just have to erase all the remote from your ecu and start from scratch(reprogram). let me know if you still have problems.

Thank you for answering so fast and I wish you fast recovery!
Can you tell me how I can erase all the remote from the ecu?

you do not need to erase all the remote for the time being. Just start the programming sequence again. Just like how you started. Read through the instruction and be prepared to reset your setting. That should do the trick. Good luck. Sorry, I wasn't around yesterday. I was so weak that I could not do anything. good luck. PM me if you need any more help.

I'll let you know. Thanks again! I hope you are better by now!

Well, I've tried it. The new remote dose nothing. I've got an other remote and I could program only partially. Just the lock button could be programmed. Basically, I do not know how many keys have been programmed for this car because I bought it as a used one. So I thing the reset would be the only hope to start everything from scratch.
By the way, the program mode is turn on by 4 press and release, or may be less because I've got immediately into the channel 2 programming mode.
Can you tell me how I can reset the main module?
Thanks again for being so nice and helpful. I hope I can return this somehow.

I've solved my problem, finally. I've called up Gulf State Toyota Online Technical Service and they helped me out.
To erase keyless remote you can do it separately. So you do not need to clear every remote from the main module you can do it individually.
Method:
Go to program mode: ignition key on, push red switch 6 times (3 in and out cycle) 1 short beep.
Push and hold lock and green bottom simultaneously, long beep. Do it 4 times...... you deleted the lock key from main module
push red switch twice (one in and out cycle) 2 short beeps.
Push and hold unlock and green bottom simultaneously, long beep. Do it 4 times...... you deleted the unlock key from main module
push red switch twice (one in and out cycle) 3 short beeps.
Push and hold lock and unlock bottom simultaneously, long beep. Do it 4 times...... you deleted the green key from main module

Turn the ignition key off ... Exiting program mode. Long beep and a short one.

Go to program mode: ignition key on, push red switch 6 times (3 in and out cycle) 1 short beep.
Reprogram your remote as written in the manual:
1. Push lock key... long beep means the module accepted it
2. Push red switch twice (one in and out cycle) 2 short beeps.
3. Push unlock key .. long beep means the module accepted it
4. Push red switch twice (one in and out cycle) 3 short beeps.
5. Push green key .. long beep means the module accepted it
6. Turn the ignition key off... exiting program mode.. long and a short beep.

Now you can try to push lock key... it should work fine.

I hope I can help other people by this! By the way the people of the Gulf Toyota Dealership are very friendly and helpfully. They will help anybody out for sure!

My dealer installed remote is FCC ELVAT5G . I purchased the car used with only one remote and no instructions whatsoever concerning the security system.

This is what my existing remote looks like:
http://www.autotechs.com/items/item391.htm

This is the spare/replacement I have purchased:
http://www.autotechs.com/items/item224.htm

Just wanted to confirm with this thread's contributors whether these remotes are programmable with the instructions provided above in molmik0510 and camry98le 's posts.

Thanks,

DFox.

In my 1999 Accord the aftermarket alarm has so called valey switch. They taped it to the fuses harness. In order to disable the alarm I have to put ignition key into on (car not running) and hold valey switch pushed untill the siren stops sounding. My son's car has just a tiny toggle switch at the knee level.
Try to look around for the alarm module. Usualy a black or clear box.
If worst comes the worst disconnect the siren.
Good luck!

omg!~~!!!
My stupid alarm (same one obviously) killed my battery. When I bought the car used (also) I was told not to mess with the remote because it had to be re-set at the dealer. I took it to a dealer in Carlsbad, Ca and they said they couldn't do it0 LAZY BASTARDS! Thank God I found your blog because the damn thing started going off a month or so ago and my husband pulled the fuse to the horn/alarm and somehow it shorted the alarm anyway and my headlights would flash even though the car would not start and my battery needs to be replaced now. Sh*t part is the alarm started "working" or going off randomly anyway but my car was still broken into and ALL my jewelry was stolen out of it the nighr before we moved!! GRRRR this damn alarm is useless! Thanks SO MUCH for the instructions- FREE ones at that!:banghead:

When you open the panel you will see a black box attached to the upper panel with three connectors coming into it from left. The front end(facing driver) was held by a zip tie to a connector so I just cut it and tilted it down which reveals a small green program switch. From here the instructions are the same from this 4runner example http://www.4runners.org/articles/rs3000/ (http://www.4runners.org/articles/rs3000/)

Have you looked into getting an aftermarket keyless entry button pad, and researching the programming from your alarm manufacturer? You should be able to get the signal codes online, or directly from the manufacturer. Once you get those an aftermarket keypad might have the capability of being programmed to your application. This might fix the issues that you have been experiencing, if I understood your issue correctly.

Very easy:
1. CAREFULLY pry the alarm panel (that is left of the steering wheel and below the vent) out of the dash. Use a flat-head screwdriver. The wires going to the panel allow it to drop away so you can access the ECU.

2. Directly above the opening you just made is the ECU. It is attached to the car with a zip tie. DO NOT CUT THE ZIP TIE. You will need it to secure the ECU when you are done, right? So just loosen it. There is a little release near the locking mechanism on the zip tie. Squeeze it while loosening the zip tie. My ECU was installed in such a way that the reset button was visible after I loosened the zip tie about 1 inch.

I hope this helps!

P.S.
My remote stopped working a while back. The re-programming didn't work. (The wife has been trying to "re-program me for years and that hasn't worked, either. But I digress!) I tried my spare remote and it worked. So, I knew it was the remote. I waited 2 weeks and tried again and it works perfectly now.
