:banghead: The third door handle on my 2003 S10 keeps breaking. I've replaced it 3 times since I bought the truck. It's not a cheep part either.

Finally I bought one online that wont break again. Its aluminum and replaces easier than the OEM. I'm sure I wont have to replace this one. If you have the same problem, try this one. It's billet Aluminum from 3rddoorhandle.com

They even have a free replacement guarentee so I know I'm at least covered for the next 3 years. I'm much happier with this one. Better than the original. :)

I had to replace mine because it broke. The handle was only $17.50 though. The reason the handle broke was because the lower latch assembly was rusted up a bit and some oil fixed that.So if your having problems with the handle breaking, you'd better check that lower latch first, before you go out and buy more parts. You will have to pull the panel and pull up the rubber boot so you can get oil to run into the lower latch, don't try to do it from the bottom of the latch itself(remember gravity).Lube your top latch also while your at it.

Yes, I did oil it several times and then again everytime I replaced the handle. The plastic is just not strong enough and broke more easily in cold weather.
Since I've switched I haven't had any problems so far.
Thanks for the suggestion though. :)

How did you oil it?Did you take the rubber boot off and dump oil down it that way?Or did you try and lube it from the bottom of the door without taking the door trim off? What did you use to lube it?I haven't had a problem with mine since I fixed it and I only put one handle on.
