Ok, how to describe this...
Part 1: After periods of long braking, such as descending a hill, my car will make a metallic scraping noise after I let off the pedal, which continues after I let off the pedal. It sounds like it is connected to the wheel rotation somehow, because it goes something like "shew, shew, shew, shew", fading out and then picking back up. This used to only happen on long hill, but it's starting to happen around town. Oh, and the car feels like it's pulsating a bit. Any idea what this could be?

Part 2: Whenever I turn the wheel well over, such as in parking the car or making a sharp turn, a grinding noise comes from the front end. It goes away after the wheels straighten out. I hear it a lot from the left side, but the right recently joined in. Any ideas?

Well, for Part 1:
Most newer brake pads have some metallic material that starts to make noise when the pads start to wear out. Mine started doing this before I replaced them. The noise would come with no pressure on the brakes and go away when I pushed the brake pedal.
Sounds like you may need new brake pads.

Thanks for the advice. The car did pass NY state inspection with the current brakes...Although the shop I went to was a bit dodgy. Blasted chain repair shops. Replacing the pads and rotors may be worthwhile if only to ease my mind...
