Please forgive me fo this post. I have a 99 villager van that has recently started to lose its power steering in the middle of the turns, Then I am forced to man handle it like a serman tank, only to then have it over steer and pull me into the other lane. At first we thought I was low on ps fluid but it all checked out fine. Then the dealership said it was a once in a lifetime thing and maybe i had dirt in the valve. Now I realize I am a girl and should now that much about cars arording to the dealships, but I have worked with cars for the last 13 years in a small garage. But this one seems to have us all stumped. This van has been nothing but a pain from day go.
Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does it do that in dry and in wet weather?

My 94 villager does the same when i drive through lots of water.
According to the dealer, there's nothing to do about my prob.

It sounds like a fluke and the fact you are a girl has nothing to do with it. First you should have known to check the basics. Yes fluid is one but did you check your pullies and belts that may have slipped due to some antifreez leak or spill of any other kind including water from the ground. The van looks to be hight of the ground but the engine is not and neither are the belts. I would be aware of my speed and road conditions at all times and when and if it ever happens again I would start my check list. You may also experienced a power loss if you where at highway speed you may have not even noticed the engine stall.

The only weather condition was it was cold. All the fluids are up to snuff, belts tight and no antifreeze smell nor leak no puddles on garage floor. Since I first wrote it has done it several more times. And yet no one is able to tell what is wrong.

It could be the valve diverter body in the steering rack.
When you turn the steering wheel, a tiny set of valves in the rack direct the PS fluid one way or the other, depending on direction of turn. If a valve sticks then you lose PS assistance and this sounds like your symptoms. Happened on my Ford Aerostar that's why I know about this.
