01 LS intermittently will not start

My 01 LS intermittently does not start. The starter does spin over at all, as though some type of electronic override is stopping the starter from spinning over. This only happens every now and then, approx 1 in every 30 starts. After you sit and try to start the car for approx 10 minutes, the car all of sudden decides to start. My next step is to let somebody download the fault codes and see if there is anything obvious. Any suggestions?

Reread your post, doesn't make sense but I will assume you mean the starter doesn't engage, if so does the security lite on the dash stay on when this happens?
