Is the heater hose fitting removable from a '97 4.6L intake manifold?

I have a simple question about the heater hose fitting on the back passenger side of the intake manifold. Can it be removed? Mine is seeping coolant between the fitting and the intake. Before I break this thing trying to remove a non-removable piece, I just want to know if it does come off. If not, then I’ll definitely be buying another intake manifold.

Thanks

Check the replacement that ford is doing. From the Law suit.

There are two different styles, a threaded nipple, and the moulded in nipple.

The threaded hose nipple CAN be removed. It is identifiable by the BRASS colored "hex" moulded into the intake (much larger in diameter than the fitting itself).

Thanks for the clarification. I'm out of luck, mine is molded. The irony here is that this is one of the replacement manifolds with the aluminum crossover. The original one cracked behind the alternator, of course. I guess I'll be using my lawsuit refund to buy yet another intake.

This is a great forum. Thanks to everyone for their help.

No, you are entitled to replacement of this one as well.

BTW, "Steel in 5 Minutes" putty doesn't fix cracked plastic intakes (it was worth a $2.50 try):grinno:
