My neighbor hooked up this machine on my 1997 toyota camry to find out why my engine light is on. The machine said P1780 transmission. He said that there is a manual that tells you exactly what the code means and what is wring with my transmission. I don't have access to the manual and was hoping someone out there can tell me what the code means.

Your Park/Neutral Position switch probably needs adjusting. Do you have problems starting? Do you jiggle your shifter to start?
