96 GA lower control armsvtjvt 02-17-2006, 10:32 PM Just a quick question, How hard are the lower control arms to replace???? xeroinfinity 02-18-2006, 12:14 PM not hard if you hav the right TOOLs. You will need a manual such as Chilton or even a Hynes would probley hav the torque spefication and anything else you'd need. vtjvt 02-18-2006, 01:30 PM Well tools won't be a problem, I have been a mechanic for 15 years, Just always worked on diesel and heavy equiptment, cars are kinda foreign to me. xeroinfinity 02-19-2006, 07:21 PM You shouldnt hav much trouble with the GA, as long as you hav one of those manuals  gmack221 02-20-2006, 03:18 PM I assume your talking about he lower A-arm? Did one on a Stratus, but not a grand am, didn't look much different. Best advice I can give you is have a ball joint fork to seperate the a-arm from the knuckle, and have a long pry bar to pry the a-arm down to get the lower ball joint out of the a-arm. Having a buddy there to give you a hand is worth the beer it cost. vtjvt 02-20-2006, 04:56 PM yea I am refering to the lower control arm, thanks for the advice all. xeroinfinity 02-20-2006, 06:58 PM ya the fork is a must for seperating the bll jionts. And the beers dont hurt. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
