I'm trying to get the old pump out but I'm not sure how to get the small fuel filter off the bottom of the pump? Can anyone help?:banghead: The unit you removed from the tank is the fuel pump. I dont know about aftermarket but the new pump comes the way you have it in your hands. Usually minus the fuel sending unit. jritz2 02-14-2006, 04:15 PM Thanks... but I got the "sock" filter off the fuel pump and now I need to remove the one fuel line attached to the fuel pump. It is a plastic flex fuel line. Do I need a special fuel line disconnect tool? or is there another way without having to buy more tools? The fuel lines that go to the pump on top are squeezed and disconnected. Other than that..... If you are trying to save money by replacing the insides of the fuel pump housing IMO is a waste of time. YOu are better off buying the complete unit. IME everytime parts are replaced they have to be replaced again often. Related Links Participate in thousands of discussions at AutomotiveForums.com!
