94 Camry - doesn't run with rebuilt computerlyonkster 02-13-2006, 08:42 PM I have a really strange problem - '94 Camry was running perfectly fine except that the Check Engine Light came on. I could not get it to give me any diagnostic codes when shorting E1 to T1, and after following the service manual instructions, became convinced that the ECU itself was bad. I sent the ECU out for rebuilding, which took almost two weeks. Now I got the rebuilt ECU back in, the car barely starts and barely idles. I finally got it to idle and fully warm up. The CEL is still on, and it still won't go into the diagnostic mode, so nothing has changed for the better. But, it now won't go into Reverse at all, and the minute I put it in Drive, it engages but instantly dies, no matter how high I try to keep the RPMs. Does this have anything to do with the ECU rebuild, or did the car get "sick" while sitting there for two weeks? I am totally at a loss where to start (I am sure the rebuilding place will state that "it was fine when it left our shop"). Help! Leon vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
