92 bonneville need help plz.icecold611 02-12-2006, 11:42 AM my bonnevile runs really rough and if give it gas it sputters and pops. i changed the coil packs, plugs, plug wires, fuel filter (http://www.serverlogic3.com/lm/rtl3.asp?si=23&k=fuel%20filter) anyone any ideas thx. maxwedge 02-12-2006, 12:03 PM How is the fuel pressure, disconnect the maf and see what happens also. thinman182 02-16-2006, 10:08 AM I have had 2 92's (have one now) and just went through same thing. Did you pull plug wires off coil packs while running to make sure it is firing all 6? Mine was only firing 4 and had to replace ignition module under coil packs on both cars. Mine is '92 with 62,000 on it. richtazz 02-19-2006, 11:58 AM Sounds like a fuel pressure issue. You'll need to check fuel pressure at the rail, with vacuum line at pressure regulator hooked up and removed. Pressure key on engine off should be 40-45 psi. Start engine, pressure should drop slightly, then remove vacuum hose at regulator, pressure should spike back up to around 45-50psi. The pressure difference between the two should only be 6-7 psi, but within the specified ranges above. If pressure is lower than values above regardless of vacuum at regulator, you need a fuel pump. If disconnecting vacuum causes pressure to rise, but with vacuum attached pressure is too low, you need a fuel pressure regulator. If fuel pressure tests ok, since you already replaced the coil packs, I would check the harness to the ICM and while your at it, take the ICM off and have it tested (Auto-Zone and Advance test them for free). Max's suggestion to disconnect the MAF is another good idea. If it runs better with the MAF disconnected, that could be your problem as well. bonnman 02-19-2006, 02:04 PM Have an 89 and 92, with past, some Ign. control mods. can be ittermittent but if your firing on all 6, the maf is a good place to look. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
