Hi, my name is Sarah. I've been a owner of a 1991 3000GT VR4 since April of 2004. I have the champagin color which I've heard is rare. I live in Columbus, Ohio and I purchased my beauty from a guy in Ft Wayne, IN. He drove the car REALLY hard. Well now its come to me needing a new transmission.

If you have one or know where I can get one I would be really appriciative. And please dont try to sell me a shitty tranny. I know about cars plus I am really good friends with the 3si.org chapter manager for Ohio and he is putting in my tranny for me and he knows a shit load about them. Just a little warning for anyone out there who would want to rip off someone like me.lol. So I am really desperate for a tranny, if you or a friend knows where I can buy one. I am trying to get one for around 900-1,000 if possible.

thanks,
sarah
ps: if you want to see a picture of my car go to www.myspace.com/saraharies (http://www.myspace.com/saraharies) and click view more pictures. you can see it there. thanks.

You might get one without a T case for 1000. I have one sitting in my garage but its sold. You may definitely find something on 3si.

I'm curious why he wouldn't recommend looking on 3si. I think it would take all of 5 minutes to find one on there.

well for one he knows I need a tranny but I didnt tell him i posted on this site. I'm trying to get a lot of options instead of going with the first thing I see. I've looked on ebay and i am going to get him to post on 3si since I believe you have to be a member to post and its like 25 dollars a month. I am an unofficial memeber.. lol anyway, this post has deemed unsuccessful since no one actually posted about a tranny.. lol anyway thanks for all the feedback.

you dont have to pay to use the 3si forum, you just have to have an email adress from an isp or something, aol, rr.com, school adresses work. yahoo and hotmail dont work

Wow whoever told you its $25 a month is smokin something. Its $10 a year to be an official member, but you dont have to be an official member to post. It just gets you access to the members area and a few other perks.

And Blink if you swap to a 6 speed dont forget you are going to need to change rear ends too unless you get JDM gears.

Search here:

Post and ask here:

Hundreds of parts are sold daily on 3si, while on here, I'd be surprised if half a dozen were. It's just a question of numbers.

For instance, here is one:

Here nelson is selling another at the bottom:

All in a minute of searching...which is why I said I'm surprised your friend didn't suggest searching 3si.

you said $25 a MONTH. The correct answer is $10 a YEAR. You can trivialize $25 and $10, but your amount is MUCH more than the correct amount. And trust me, even if it WAS $25 a month, but it GOT you your tranny, you would be singing another story, since you don't care about anything else, correct?

Also, instead of keep coming back here after we keep telling you how to use 3si.org you are wasting your time and actually SLOWING your process of getting your tranny.

And in summation, the 1st gen tranny is the same in 91, 92, and 93 year models. Limiting yourself to the 1991 model only is cutting 66.67% of your possibilities.

And again its $10 a year to be an official member. You dont have to be an official member to post in regular forums or even the parts wanted forum.;)
