99 VW Passat With Factory Alarm Won,t Startcyrusdgreat 02-10-2006, 02:30 AM I just had my 99 Passat at a local body shop for some light bodywork and paint. The shop had disconnected the battery as is customery before performing many diffrent repairs on a car. The problem is when the battery was reconnected all looks good but the car will not start. The lights in the dash and all other electrical functions work ok but the Alarm is completley Disabled it seems (no siren, blinkers etc...) Looks like the only part of the alarm that is working has disabled the the car from turning over. Trying to unable/disable/reset the alarm has not worked... Please help!:banghead: veedubmechanic 02-12-2006, 10:45 PM Trying to unable/disable/reset the alarm has not worked... Please help!:banghead: what and where was body work done. common failure of these cars is the comfort module under driver side carpet. cyrusdgreat 02-13-2006, 03:23 AM Hey everyone, thanks to this wonderfull tool and good information my problem was resolved. I started my troubleshooting at the fuse box and would'nt you know Fuse #14 was bad, once replaced the car started right up and the alarm is once again functional. thank you all.:smokin: veedubmechanic 02-14-2006, 06:34 PM that fuse covers the comfort module and interrior lights. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
