View Full Version : SLR issues? SLR issues? Preacher35 02-10-2006, 12:48 AM OffroadX 02-10-2006, 10:19 AM They had their share of issues a while back, but have gotten their stuff together considerably in the last several months. There will always be issues w/ any company, and when they're the only ones you hear it can seem like a big problem, but in reality most have positive experiences. Schludwiller 02-10-2006, 01:26 PM It's taken an upturn now that Josh is dedicated to handling customers and Spencer can stay focused on makinig new products. Preacher35 02-10-2006, 07:55 PM I was quite pissed with Spencer. I had been waiting about 4 weeks for a Calmini steering kit to ship to me but when I called them to check status, they said another 2 weeks. I called SLR and spoke to Spencer directly. He stated that he had a kit ready to ship immediately. 2 weeks later and it still had not shipped. I am well aware that these small shop fabricators take extensive time to get these kits together, but if I hadnt cancelled my Calmini order, I could have had the calmini kit by now and my X subsequently lifted. Fast forward>>> Spencer, called me a few minutes ago and apologized and stated that the kit has officially shipped and finally gave me a tracking #. He seems like an alright guy, but I just wish he had told me up front that it would have taken 2 weeks... Gonna have to wait another damned week of shipping time. Sorry for the rant. Schludwiller 02-13-2006, 02:17 PM Sounds like SLR got it out faster than your wait with Calmini was. Why not be pissed at Calmini? Preacher35 02-25-2006, 01:17 AM Here's an update: got the X back from Off Road Unlimited (a local 4x4 garage) with the lift and steering kits installed. Holy crap! My X is roughly 4 to 5 inches higher than prior to installation. Went straight to Discount tire to get some 32x11.50x15's and was very impressed with SLR's kit. As I climbed up, into the X, I was concerned about handling on the street (I've done lifts on other Nissan products before and have been dissappointed in the past). Well, bottom line is the steering was flawless, firm and reassuring. My compliments go out to Spencer Low. Some bitching on my part was out of frustration and probably out of line, but all is well now. wpwilder 04-26-2006, 04:13 PM Joshua at SLR has been pretty damn helpful.. ordered a 3" w/3 pack AAL. still waiting for the sway bar extensions but i'll probably leave the sway bar out anyway... initially i hadn't recieved the 3 pk. AAL's, called and talked to josh, UPS dropped them off the next day... Related Links Participate in thousands of discussions at AutomotiveForums.com! Registration is absolutely free. |
