I think I'm man enough to admit when I make stupid and embarrassing mistakes. If my tale sticks in one persons head and prevents a mishap then I haven't made the mistake for naught.

Proper tools for the job
When reinstalling door hinge springs, use the recommended compression tool. Just minutes ago, a spring slipped out of a pair of channel locks and went through my rear window; glass everywhere. Thank God it didn't hit me in the face. I was gearing up for a snowboarding trip tomorrow and now I'm stuck taking my girlfriends Corolla.

It seems that there are fewer and fewer do-it-yourselfers around as people are content in their lack of understanding anything beyond steering, gas and brake. So, as quite possibly the lesser of you when it comes to wrenching on our Blazers, I humbly offer this advice; don't rush and use the proper tools for the job.

Yeah that's no joke. Ihad the proper tool but didn't lodge the spring in there good enough and it came flying out. Thankfully I had a towel over the spring. Thats another tip, put a towel over the spring whether you are using the tool or not.
