2001 LT Oil Leak !!!!!!! And Wierd Noise ProblemTheBrettster 02-09-2006, 08:14 PM Hey i noticed a few drops of oil sitting on my driveway last week. Thought nothing about it till i look under the car today to find another probem. Oil Leak- Its Located behind and seeping threw the Skid Plate. I tried to snap some pics but i couldn't see were it was coming from. http://max.thegamevoice.com/S4010032.JPG http://max.thegamevoice.com/S4010030.JPG http://max.thegamevoice.com/S4010025.JPG http://max.thegamevoice.com/S4010024.JPG http://max.thegamevoice.com/S4010031.JPG http://max.thegamevoice.com/S4010020.JPG Now My Second Problem Is When I turn I hear this Loud POP and you can feel it in the car. It did it 2 times today and it sounds like its getting worse. old_master 02-09-2006, 08:36 PM Take her to a do-it-yourself car wash, remove the plastic shroud and hose her down til she's squeeky clean. Then look for the oil leak. TheBrettster 02-09-2006, 09:04 PM yea i did that and alot of oil came out. i still cant find were it is lol blazee 02-09-2006, 09:11 PM With it being in that area, I'd start by checking the filter and the oil cooler lines. TheBrettster 02-09-2006, 10:49 PM its comming from the behind the pulley. I think its the front gasket. But that noise i have no idea about. BlazinMlew 02-10-2006, 12:26 AM Ball joint ~~on the noise? Maybe? muddog321 02-10-2006, 07:36 AM The oil filter door is the place to look - the silver metal pressure fittings on the hoses leak and when they really go you can trash the motor. Look at both sets - engine to filter and filter to radiator. As for the popping noise - if not sway bars mounts, calipers, ball joints, or hubs, then look at the torsion bar rear mounts and I just had a broken weld on the frame to rear lower control arm mount that also holds the front differential on a 99. Hard to see cause the weld is mostly on the frame in front of the bracket which flexes on stops. After I checked all other areas and added washers to the rear torsion bar mounts it got worse. Got welded and fixed plus also fixed a slight brake pull to the left on hard stops. Check motor mounts too - drivers side can cause a clunk too. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
