Xsara Radio Problems

Hi
I have a 1998 Citroen Xsara and bought a Citroen Saxo (2000) factory CD player for it from Ebay. I've installed it into my Xsara and the radio just hisses and the steering wheel controls don;t work either? I know the Saxo never had steering wheel controls but am wondering if anyone knows if I can make this work? Any help really appreciated. My address is Sirving55@yahoo.co.uk Thankyou
