Basically my brake pedal is going str8 to the floor if i pump & pump it goes hard then slides back to the floor. I change slave cylinder & bleed the brakes.
After this the brakes are the same as b4.
the handbrake holds perfect. if i hold brake pedal down & try & set off 1 of my front brakes trys to hold while the other caliper isnt working.
Any ideas what to try next?

possibly your master cylinder is leaking.

the part i thought was slave cylinder cud be the master cylinder. its the part with the resovoir on top of it. If the pipe from servo is punctured what effect wud that have on breaking?

the reservoir sits on the master cylinder and then that all bolts into the servo, possibly the rubber seals have perished between the master cylinder and the servo. you will need to unbolt. this to look for fluid cos there should be none. remember to bleed the brakes again and are you sure you are bleeding all the air out of the system. i always use a power bleeder prob the best thing i have ever brought expensive but worth every pound. about £110 but at least it makes the job easier and quicker and also there is very little chance of any air getting into the system.

probably direct from peugeot. does the fluid level drop ie you have to keep topping up regularly. if you do its probably filling up the servo. if not probably just the seals. have a look at euro car parts website to see how the things are sold.

well you definately got an air leak somewhere in the system. do you get any air bubbles out when you bleed it.

no air bubbles at all just pure fluid

other things to try wheelbearings, hub nuts.

Wud any of those stop the brakes working?

well brake disc is attached to hub and if brake disc doesn't rotate round evenly then what happens is the disc acts on the brake pads which will push them back so when you press brake pedal the pedal will travel further because it has to move the pad back towards the disc. have you noticed when changing your pads you push the piston back to get the new pads in and when you first get in the car you have to pump the pedal to get them located properly. sound familar?

that may be the problem on the brake that doesnt work but not the main pronlem. the pedal goes st8 to the floor & the car doesnt stop
