My '92 304 v-8 FI has a progressive problem, it normally starts easy, idles fine, but more and more lately, it wants to die in heavy traffic. It seems the motor is "loading-up" with extra fuel as we call it in the dirt-bike circles. It falls on it's face randomly after deceleration, lopes horribly, and threatens to leave me stranded in the lane during rush-hour, and all I can do is hold the brake on (auto tranny) and rev the engine to keep it alive, then next time, it might do fine, but my gas mileage has also gone to heck.
Thanks, Steve W.

I had a problem similar to that in my truck. I would come off the highway and stop at a light and it would shake and just fall on its face unless i rev'd it up. It was the speed sensor and yours sounds like the same problem. If you have a 700-R4 transmission you have 2 speed sensors. Duck down under the driver door and you should see two sensors stickin out the left side of your transmission. The one closer to the front is Input and the one farther back is output. I couldn't tell you from here which one it is or if its both, but that would be the first thing i check out. If you want, email me at FaultVault@yahoo.com and i will send you a picture of what im talking about. Let me know what you find out.
