2.8L swap to a 5.0L

Has anyone did a :disappoin 2.8 L:disappoin engine swap to a :grinyes: 5.0 or a :grinyes: 5.7 engine swap. I juss wana know if im gona run into alot of problems along the way. I have a 1988 blazer with a 2.8 in looking to drop in a 305 or a 350 this summer i juss wana find an easy way to do everything im juss doing it as a project prob wont get it on the road legally so all most anythin is :naughty: possable:grinyes: so any suggestions or comments would be very helpful

How about a 406 Stroker!
And then make it carburated, since you won't need emissions for off road use.
Headers, no exhaust pipe required although I would aim them out the side so you don't fume yourself out.

It sounds like a fun project, if you build it right it will be worth a fair amount when you go to sell it.

i juss wana do it the cheap way with a motor i can find and those motors are kinda easy to find i dont know about a 406 LOL but im lookin more for motor mount set up for a V8 and tranny combo and the tranny cross member n i prob wont sell it id keep it LOL i dont wana spend a whole lot of money on it juss a backyard special LOL n ill be doing all of da work so the easiest way possible

I had a 4x4 too at 1 point but the block cracked n i juss ended up junkin it plus the body was a lil rough but i got a RWD blazer now and thats the 1 i wana do my project with its a lil rough to but im gona do it anyways or try to

The best page I found on the subject is gone now. Jut he used 2.8L mounts on the frame, and made his own for the engine with 1/4" (or so) steel

He had a body lift on his and it was 4x4
