ok 5 days until my 240 arrives, so now its time to start up the SR vs KA argument in my head. i did have some questions though
(i already searched so please answer to the best of your knowledge)


1. nissanfanatic, what are you using for your fuel system? is it worth it for a car of your power level to switch to top feed injectors? and what downpipe do you use? iirc you use a top mount manifold...corect me if im wrong

2. skylinedrftr(sp?) where you get your flares? im not sure if im going to do that but id like to know, as they look nice as hell.

3. what are opinions on driveshafts? i need to buy one anyways, should i get a stock one, or a light steel one or aluminum?

4. cant i just take the hubs out of the knuckle assembly and replace them with 5lug hubs? or do i have to replace the whole thing?

5. what offset will fit for 16x7(front) and 16x8(rear) rims(with fender rolling)? these will be my daily rims, my nicer ones are going to be 17s or 18s

6. will a SR short shifter fit in the KA tranny? some places say yes some say no...if not, whats a good short shifter for the KA?

unless you go with s14 5 lug hubs no replacing them is not needed

b&m is one of the places that say "SR only" on all their shifters...i hope it would fit i love b&m

believe it or not. before the SR got super super main stream, B & M never made a SR short shifter. it was for the KA only. then after a few guys from the 240 meets got their SR swapped in, they put their KA B & M's in their SR's and it fits perfectly.

so i guess B & M has a change of heart and now they just relabeled the KA shifter as a SR shifter.

1. yes Fanatic has a groundzero manifold, its very nice, you can use top feed or sidefeed doesnt matter.

3. i would do stock driveshaft, cheaper, and hardly any differnce in anything...i have a one piece and stocker...drive same, saves maybe 1-2whp...big deal

5. 16x7 0 offset, 16x8 +15 or +10 on more stretched tires.

6. any yes as TATII said...B&M shifter swaps in great on a KA

im pretty sure fanaitc has a custom downpipe. but dont quote me on that.

Yeah, he made his own. And 16x8 +10 in back is perfect, front, 16x8 +15 is perfect.

as far as injectors, is top feed desirable? while looking around i usually see that all the bigger injectors out there are top feed...i cant think of any reason why but maybe something isnt occuring to me

the only reason i really am not sure about KA-T is because im not sure where i would get a downpipe. any custom fab shops in MN are going to be domestic shops and they might look at me funny if i ask for a KA-T downpipe. i dont even know where any fab shops are anyways but i really havent looked too hard yet.

ok well im gonna get a KA24DE, ordering it tomorrow. 43,000 miles, tested, started, warrantied for 600 shipped. not bad at all id say. now just to find a downpipe...
i forgot to check if my shell still has the engine harness...stupid me. if it doesnt ill need one of those too. that would suck. ka harnesses arent easy to find.
i also have to decide on exhaust.

plus 2.5 inches a little weak..

For the downpipe, just go to a muffler shop.

ive arrived late to this thread, but props for B&M, i love my shortthrow, well worth the money. Plus it got rid of that sloppy shifting feeling because its not 110000 miles old...
