Driver door window goes down but not up

My 1999 Toyota Sienna driver side power door goes down with the window switch but does not go up. I have to pull it up with hands. I would very much appretiate if someone can tell me what I will need to check and replace to make it work again.

There was an earlier posting on the same issue and I immediately suggested replacing the motor. Someone pointed out (quite correctly) that the switch should be checked first. Check for continuity when you push the switch in either direction. Check for loose wires.
When motors (or plastic parts of the track) fail you will often be able to open, but not close the window because of the weight of the window.
