Need to run a Buick/Olds 215 in reverse rotation.ralfwho 02-02-2006, 11:39 PM I am looking for a reverse-rotation cam and distributor gear for a Buick/Olds 215. Anybody? maxwedge 02-03-2006, 09:53 AM Marine application? ralfwho 02-03-2006, 10:06 AM Corvair flat 6s turn in the opposite direction. I want to replace that engine with a Buick/Olds 215 for a number of reasons. 1) Power 2) The 215 is a measly 100 pounds heavier than the Corvair engine. Other v8s are a LOT heavier. 3) BOP engines will line-up with the Corvair transaxle. 4) The availability of Corvair speed parts is limited 5) Normal wear and tear parts for the Corvair are getting expensive. 6) There are a bunch of V8 conversions that put the engine in the back seat and send power thru the trans to the transaxle. That's the configuration (more or less) that Pontiac used in the 61-63 Tempest. Want to keep the engine in the stock position. odie13 02-09-2006, 12:29 PM I think you are out of luck unless you want to pay for a custom cam grind and have a reverse starter built. You might be able to just reverse the current thru the starter. There are reverse cams available for corvair motors as they were once a popular swap for VW & porsche cars. But I don't think there was any demand or interest in swapping motors into the corvair. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
