On my 84 Bonniville(Old faithful). When I turn on my headlights at night. On my instrument panel, my left turn signal light. Comes on, and stays on, untill I turn my headlights off. It does not blink, until I signal a left turn. I have changed the light switch, removed the instument panal and cleanned the contacts, and changed the blinkers. This has been going on for about 2years. I know the car is 22years old, and ready to be retired. When I do retire it, I will probably donate it to a charity. It has only broken down once. And thank God, it broke down in front of a mechanic. We fixed it on the spot, and I drove it home.

Way back in the day I had an 85 S10 pickup that did that. Turned out to be a burnt out side marker light if I recall correctly. It was on the same side that was indicated by the illuminated arrow on the dash. It can't be that simple of a solution, could it?

I got my car inspected 3weeks ago in January. I replaced a side marker light, and one of the front lights. Both on the side the instrument panel light is. I have not noticed if the light on the instrument panel is still on. It has been on for so long, I have gotten use to seeing it on. I wiil check to see if that was the problem. Thanks RMan

Randman1 you have just fixed my 2year old problem. The side marker light was out again with one of my front lights, both share the same wires. The front light socket is bad. I could giggle the wires and the lights would come back on, and the light on the instrument panel would go out. It was a simple solution. Thanks buddy.
