Firstly you got to watch the language, you get bees with honey, ya know!

Before replacing fuel pump, take off the air cleaner cover, try to start. Note; is there any oil in the air cleaner?

Check ALL vacuum hoses for leaks that come off the TBI unit, of course I'm assuming this is a 3.1 L rodeo. Please be specfic as to your engine type.

If there is a lot of oil you might try carb cleaner in the butterys and the bypass which is located right over the IAC. EGR could be an issue to, press on the diaphram, if there is little restance, thats OK, but if you have to force it, then its bad.

I do know that if you remove the vacuum off the accessory line (check the hood), your idle will go up. this might help determine if you have a vacuum leak. If you remove the line that goes to the air temp sensor and your idle does not go up, it cold be another leak some where.
