I just scanned my car due to a check engine light and it came up with these 2 codes it also wouldn't clear the codes. i know these are transmission related, but what do they mean? Any one out there know how to fix it or where to start?

There are no "C" codes that I know of for the neon. The P0701 is for second generation neons I thought. I don't think the PCM on the first gen has codes for the transmission.

P0701 Transmission Control System Range/Performance

Mostly related to computer problem (PCM)(TCM). A good way to determine if it's just a "false" code just disconnect the negative pole of the batt and wait 5 minutes (erase error code stored) then reconnect. After check if the code is coming back.
