Hi, I own a Ford Escort 98 station wagon. A week ago the I went to the shop to replace the rack & pinion of the wagon and since then the wagon is shutting off of every time I hit abump on the road. Besides I am feeling a little lost of power in the car during regular usage.

It hapens in this order:

I hit a bump.

The car do not accelerate anymore.

Check engine light turn on, oil light turn on, etc.

Then the car shut off.

Then I turn it on the car again normally like nothing has happens.

Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem. Thanks in advance, any help will be appreciate.

BTW sorry for any mispell, english is not my first language.

I would take it to the shop.
It's obvious something is loose and causing the engine to cut-out..

That's about all I can suggest.

A stupid question but does your Escort have enough engine oil in it?
