So... whats going on guys? Bad news... my love, s13 died a couple of days ago and im pissed and sad... not having a car really makes you feel like a girl. depending on people and begging for rides, so freaking gay:crying: .

Anyway, the tranny is dead and its not worth replacing, the car was in great shape but 237800 miles on it and it was an auto so ive got to get a new ride... So ive narrowed it down and im looking at either a 300zx or a 3000gt. Im going NA because of insurance and the fact that id kill myself if i had that much power. Plus my price range is around 7000 tops. Ive found a couple of each around here but cant really decide. The z is more money for more miles and most have been dogged to death, at least the 5sd. But i dig the exterior a little more and how it has a racing feel to it... the mitsubishi is about the same power wise, but the exterior is slightly feminine to me and the interior dosent hold you like the z does, but i can get one with few miles on it. And more space on the inside may be a good thing sometimes.
Basicly i want to see what you guys say; i feel that the nissan engine is a little ... "sturdier" than the mistu, but maybye im mistaken, also ive heard that the 300gt has issues with timing belts... both cars are decent as far as speed but id feel cooler in a z obviously, so is it woth the extra miles?

The other thing is that i need to kill a honda s2000 that was pissing me off while driving my 240, i think its stock and the guys an ass so apart from urinating on his car (which i do three times a week:evillol: ) i must beat him... either car should be able to handle that right? not sure of s2000 capabilities, alright any advice is welcome, leaning towards the z myself but figured id ask later- amn

buying another car wont get you there... except... dare i say it... a cobra or ls1, but they are just barely fittin in your 7K range... but if you took 7k and spent it WISELY with a 5 speed swap, SR swap, KA-T setup, or something else in your 240, that S2K could definitely be lookin at the back of your car.. keep the 240, i wouldnt get rid of mine for those cars, and if you do odds are youll regret it

With a 7k SR swap, you could easily embarass the S2000.

as long as the body and frame are in good condition then keep the car!!! you have to realize that your situation is the situation i want to be in. if i had 7k to spend on a car, i'd probably do a decent ka-t setup or get an sr, new turbo, fmic, bigger injectors, rims, suspension.. 7k would get an engine done properly. even an rb20 is possible.. a little more work for less result but you're still running a pretty sweet engine

buy another cheap s13 to use as a daily driver use the rest of the money into the broken 240 as a project car

and I dunno about the cobra but one of my buddies has a Z32 and as long as there's corners he can't keep up with me. He has trouble keeping the back end in its place.

my buddy has a 94 cobra 5.0 with the basics... exhaust, intake, port and polish... not the best around the turns but not near as bad as a 3000gt is, and when he gets that thing to a straightaway... well lets just say it would take A LOT of turn and no straights for my car to stand a chance at even seeing his back end for long

edit: the cobra cost him only 2k, it was a POS when he got it, but his dad owns a shop and Ford runs in their blood so it wasnt long before his car was whoopin ass, and hes not near spendin 7000

the 94 5.0's are the newer bodystyles, which are nicer than the fox bodystyles, until they put that LAME ASS 4.6 in there...

theres been in the last three years in my broke ass town's high school, at least one kid each year with a mustang 5.0 in 10's to low 12's, one kid had his supercharged, another was built to shit, and then the kid i talked about with the cobra before had a fox body before that which was monstrous as hell! For cheap power, they are definitely on top of the list!

at my school we got a decently fast fake cobra/saleen and an absolutely shitty mustang v6 with a hella loud exhaust...

UHh... damn guys, thanks for all comments... but im about to piss everyone off! oh and no i really didnt urinate on the kids car, that would be as gay as he. And actually the only reason he always tries to race me is because i took his girlfriend! really! anyway, i needed a car pronto so basicly it was the first good deal i could find and it happened to be a 3000gt. 92 sl, sort of cool (nice to look at) and decent fast but nothing great. overall not too bad i only spent 4800 on it and its got leather and climate control and other cool shite... actually the first 5sd ive had so thats fun and miles are at 140, so medium... but its perfect cond. which is very sweet, but the sl if fwd (gay) and its got a targa top which i havent seen on too many 3000's (cool but more weight) ...

So basicly my plan is to have this as a daily driver (i can feel decent with the speed) and pay it off and try to put a new KA in my 240 (240000mi is too much for forced induction) and a manual conversion, wish i could have done that instead but i cant afford to have so much down time, and if i wreck it i'd only get like 500 from insurance! sooo... dats the plan, i dont think ill do much of anything to the mitsu, its fun to drive, but really the 240 was a little better. so sort of pumped and sort of deppresed as well, I considered a vr4 but honestly i didnt want it, 300tt i would have gone for though.

with 4800, why didnt you just have your 240sx rebuilt, and turbo it? WTF? you had 5K to spend, and you bought a whole new car, and then say you want to rebuild the 240? You could have done that in the first place...

for 4800 there are shops that could have swapped in an SR with the basics in 4 days, thats not a lot of downtime, youd be makin more power, and as we all kno... RW owns FW all day... bad decision, one of those times yuo should have thought it out first
