I have owned a Silver 2000 SE for a few days less than a year now and I love it, however, i regret not having the in-dash changer to go with it. I was just gonna buy one cheap off of Ebay and install it, can I do this, or are there other things to be changed and if so, would it be worth it to just buy a decent aftermarket changer or head unit instead? Any information would be appreciated.

Yes, I've done it, simple direct swap including wiring connectors.
HOWEVER, the 02-04 systems use 2-ohm speakers, while the 00-01 use 4-ohm speakers. The 2-ohm speakers require less power, and the head units are down-powered accordingly. The 02-04 stereo can barely power the 00-01 4-ohm speakers, I can crank mine to the max and it's only starting to get loud.

FYI,
Brent
