Found a brand-new one for a $8k dollar discount, going for 20K fully loaded crew-cab - NICE.

Have not test drove it though....yet! I''m wondering if they're giving such a discount because it's an Isuzu rig??

I followed a Colorado today. I can't answer your tranny question, but it's a real clean looking truck.

Really have my eye on the engine in the new 2005-2006 Xterra/Frontier; but their prices are just ridiculous.

For some reason it lists the 4L60E w/ the 2.8L 4cyl, but the box comes up blank for the 4x4. It's gotta be the same. The 4L60E is a AWESOME trans that's been around for a long time & used in V8 4x4 full sized truck applications. I like the looks of the colorado/canyon and especially LOVE the inline engines, 4cyl or 5cyl. I'd go with the 'isuzu' version just because of the better price.

Are those inline 5's still having issues? I know when they first came out in 2004 they were problem causing, something about 2 cylinders not staying cool enough.

Hmmm.. I dunno? It's a modular type engine where the 4,5,6 are essentially the same aside from length and # of cyl. I dunno much else about them. You may want to browse the trailblazer and colorado forums for awhile.

Good find R02. Looks like it is the 4L60E on colorados. If you click on the 'whats new' link about it and read through that it says in there that its used in the colorado 4x4s. Also on that list it lists it as being used in the H3 with the I-5 engine.

For four-wheel drive applications on the Canyon and Colorado, the bottom pan of the 4L60-E was modified so that the prop shaft from the transfer case to the front differential can clear the side of the transmission. As a result of the new bottom pan, the 1-2 accumulator housing, the valve body, and the fluid filter had to be redesigned for clearance. The fluid filter, which is housed inside the bottom pan of the transmission, was also redesigned to fit the new pan.
