heater vent smells acridrooob 01-26-2006, 06:10 AM Our 98 Durango has this white smoke at times but an acrid smell coming from the heater vents. Smells more electrical than antifreeze. Anyone have an idea????? n8zdogg 01-26-2006, 11:54 AM faling heater blower? -- had the same in my chevrolet truck, but not in my Durango -- yet. Stevo2 01-28-2006, 03:25 AM Could also be the blower motor resistor block and connector that is starting to burn and melt? lewie 02-23-2006, 12:34 AM If it is only noticed with headlights on. It is your headlight switch. The switch for some reason will fail and get hot and begin to melt the headlight switch connector and cause the smell and smoke to circulate through the air vents. I originally thought it was my heater fan until I ran across that defective switch. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
