1989 f150 rear end gear ratioDan-m-1960 01-25-2006, 08:15 PM Have a 89 ford f150 larriat, straight 6 cylinder 4.9, manual trany, 4x4, that is in need of a rear end. Called a junk yard to locate a replacement and I was asked by them what gear ratio the rear end in my truck has.... I have no idea. Any information on the stock rear end and or gear ratio for this vehicle is will be most appreciated. Thanks Dan sreve 01-25-2006, 09:00 PM most likekly a 3:55 but w a 4x4 take no chances its gotta be the same. if you have the sticker on the door jamb post the axle code mechhound 01-26-2006, 02:05 AM Also, there may be a small metal tag on one of your differential bolts. There really is no standard ratio, my 88 F-150 4X4 with your same engine and 5 speed manual has a 3.08. But as sreve said you can't guess with a 4X4. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
