Ok, i heard there was a viper killing nothing but nissan's last month at the races, so i told a few people i wanted to race him.last week, i get a call from the owner of the viper, i was like WTF.He's telling me that he likes going after 1 type of car brand and that this month was nissan.He asked me if i owned one an i said yea, so this past saturday we met at the races.OMG, you wold not believe this,but i swear the whole fukkin city was there to watch us race.Not to brag, but i do own 1 of the quicker nissan's in my area.Needles to say, i was scared, i mean the guy was running a RT/10.

Well, we lined up and did our burn outs to heat up our tires.we lined up again ready to race.We both took off with me taking him off the line, he burnt his tires for a sec. and caught up to me no prob after shifting to his 2nd gear.I shift into 3rd with my BV whistling very loud which caught him by suprise for some reason.i could see him make a strange face at my car like he didn't kno it was turbo'd.He shifts into 3rd zooming by me as i'm shifting to 4th.He shifts to 4th and keeps making more ground between me an him as he shifts to 5th.I'm struggling to catch up as i shift to 5th very slowly catching him.I ended up losing by a cars length which isn't to bad considering what i raced.

We got back to where everyone was waiting and when i stepped out of my car, i was being appluaded.I was shocked cuz i've never been rooted for by the crowd.The guy walked over, was in about his early 30's, shock my hand an asked if i wanted to get a bite to eat.holy shit, this had to be the coolest guy i've ever meet.He was telling me that i've been the only challenge to him as a nissan owner.He then asked me what kind of setup i was running on my car, i told him i swapped in my SR20DET, added a front mount intercooler, and all my other little goodies.He was impressed with the work i've done to my car and was wondering if i would let him get behind the wheel to see what it was like to drive a turbocharged car.I said sure, but only if u let me drive urs.To my amazement, he handed me the keys.i thought I was gonna cry.......i mean....my first time in the seat of a viper RT/10........needles to say i didn't try driving the car hard for fear of crashing it.But as i get out of the viper, i look over and the guy is busting some mad donuts in my car, i was like shyt this guy is kool.We ended up going out to denny's for a late bite to eat and talking about cars and other stuff.He even told me that he was going easy on me so that i dind't get embarrased infront of so many people.I was like no shyt, i was power shifting and had no chance, but thanked him for not ripping me a new one.

Needles to say, saturday was probably the best night of my life.we exchanged information an everything on where we lived.He even invited me to his house next saturday to chill then go out racing.I'm like so happy to find someone that kool about racing in general.this was the best weekend of my life..........

Thats cool as shyt. It is rare you find people that cool, and laid back. I got to drive a 500 hp Viper GTS, well it was around a parking lot, but I got to drive a 500hp Viper GTS.

whoa~ even a light ass frame with a S15 swap was no match. well then again yoru comparing a low 12 second car to a low 13 second car. but that seemed pretty awesome i wish i was there and i'll be screaming out "REPRESENT ALL THE 240'S AND NISSANS!!!" my best race was the trip back from Alantic City for Hot Import Nights this saturday. most of AOR ( all out racing) the crew that i'm in was just goin nuts on the trip back on a empty two lane road. we were all cutting each other off and just havin fun at 110mph. even though it wasn't a real race, well all had fun. cusae i''ve never had my car doin 110 for more then 5 minutes before. thsi time were goin that for atleast 5-10 miles.

I think i could've kept up if i maxed out my boost.I can run it at a max of 16, but i only raised it to 13 cuz i'm afraid something might happen to the engine.I asked him if we could race again, just me an him cuz i don't want all those eyes on me again.I'm gonna max out my boost for one race hoping to atleast stay with him this time.Man this guy is really koo.

So whats the Viper like? Damn thats an awesome race. I wanna get a 300zx soon to keep up the NISSAN PRIDE!!:cool:

i only took it to 4th gear, but damn, that car have so much torque.I got up to 4th gear during a burn out.After that i kinda walked away in amazement from how quickly you reach redline.

When you race him again and max your boost, you should swing by the local drags or airport and pick up some 110+ octane. It would let you safely run more boost, since you have the FMIC. Do you have an upgraded fuel system?

No i don't have an upgraded fuel system.Thats ony my to-do list for my car.But i raced him on sunday night this week.I ran my car on 18lbs of boost.............i never knew how fast my car could go.With my boost so high up,I had to practice shifting through gears before i raced him.After my turbo lag(about 2800RPM) the boost i got from the car was incredible.I'd see it at 3RPM, then within an instant it would be a redline.I mean damn, i didn't kno I would get that much of a boost out of the stock turbo.

But yea we did race on a two lane highway off of a street light.And asked him to drive his best cuz i wanted to see what i was capable of.

We're both at the light when it turns green.We both take off nearly burning our tires, I get the better start taking a small lead as he shifts to his 2nd gear.OMG, I didn't realize how quickly i went through my 2nd an 3rd gear cuz as i shifted to 4th, he was barely going into 3rd.I was ahead by a car length at this moment.(lets just say i had the biggest and stupidest smile on my face as i looked in my mirror to see him behind by car length.Then as quick as my smile came, it left.I hear his motor just roar as he chirps his 4th gear.He's starting to pull up fast as i drop the clutch quickly and shift to 5th gear.He drops his clutch an shifts to 5th catching up and taking the lead by a good bumber or so.At this point, we're both going about 100mph or so zooming by pedestrians.I have my foot all the way down to the floor hoping my turbo will give me an advantage.He's still about a bumber infront of me as i max out my motor at around 130.He's still going but slows downs as soon as he notices i'm not going any faster.We both pull over to a gas station and get out and talk.I told him how i coudln't catch up cuz the motor seemed like it was starting to strain as i maxed out.He just laughed and said "Next time i'll drive your car, and show you wut it really can do" i just started thinking about my loss to him not being my car is slow, but my driving ability.He starts giving me props on keeping up this time, since he was really pushing his car this time.

After that we went cruising around(my boost all the way down to 7psi) looking for people to race.All we could find was a cobra mustang that didn't want to race, he told us through his window that he had just been smoked by a 2nd gen supra so something must be wrong with his car.So we just we to a hang out spot where abunch of the car crews roll an chilled.

I'm hoping to upgrade my fuel system so that it would kill my motor like it did when running higher boost.I also have a stage 2 ACT clutch on the way, so hopefully that will help too.As soon as i'm able to beat this Viper, i'm going to be starting my own car crew.

I got burned on my R1 the other day by a transam. I was in the speed lane on the freeway around 2AM, he got on the freeway and I could see him laying it down as his nose bobbed at the gear shift hard. So I figured I would give him a run to see if he had done any mods. Waited till he was almost up to me and started accelerating to match his speed, unfortunately he kept accelerating crazy fast, I had timed it a little slow. Wasn't able to even come close to his acceleration around 130mph. He was probably a good 6 cars ahead at around 170 and was still pulling. Decided that was enough for me, flashed my hazards and slowed down.

Met him about an hour later at one of the local gas stations that has 100octane gas, joked around abit for awhile, then got to the inevitable "whats under the hood" question. I'm a good back yard mechanic, but I had absolutely no idea what the hell I was looking at. Although his engine compartment wasnt all fancy, you could tell it was a beast. Found out that he was running twin turbos with a fogger(my guess, it was definetely NOS). Suprised his car is street legal lol.

Anyways, that is my second loss while racing my R1. My first loss was about a month ago to a ZX-12R, the other guy only won by like half a bike, but a wins a win. I'm thinking of turboing my R1, and keeping my R6 for the track.

Btw, second gen RX-7s RULE!!!!

and a viper R/T 10 can easily out handle a S13. theres not even in the same class. but i find this story very believable. i mean a S15 motor runnin at 18 psi's of boost. stock is 247hp. at 7psi. now your running almost 3 times as much boost. so lets say thats a 100% increase to be on the safe side because turbo's don't always work out perfect. well thats 494hp on a light 2700lb frame. with that kind of power to weight ratio that can definitly keep up with a viper, if not pull on a viper.

I dont about that. 18psi on the SR20DET, its higher compression than my 4g63, Ive read the SR cant handle lots of boost without some mods due to its 8.5 CR-namely fuel system upgrades. Aren't the stock injectors only like 320cc or the like. A Viper shifting to 5th at 100mph? GET real. 1st goes to like 48, 2nd to 75-80, so on and so on. Also, 18psi on a more stock car wont feel like a properly tuned car(intercooler, full exhaust, fuel, electronics to control fuel and timing). On a properly tuned car 1psi will = 15-20bhp.
