Emission passing and exhausts?dsmkid95 01-24-2006, 11:01 AM Well i just got my 05 wrx and planning on doing my exhaust a.s.a.p. i had an eclipse with 3 in straight no cat because i dont have emissions in my town but now that i have a new car i dont want to screw it up. my question is what kind of setup should i do if i want to pass emissions in the future. Headers, uppipe, downpipe and exhaust. i was looking at Perrin but not to sure if there whole setup will be emission legal. Any help on this would be great. myjeepsux420 02-14-2006, 04:19 PM There are a total of three cats on your car. One is on the uppipe and two after the turbo. I know you can get rid of the one in the uppipe, but you need to get a chip thing to change the signal that would have come from the EGT in the uppipe. You can get away with running one cat after the turbo which will make a big difference in the way the turbo spools. keita 02-15-2006, 06:16 PM That all depends on how your state/county/city does smog testing. Most likely you will pass with one cat, and perhaps even with none. Your best bet is to keep your stock exhaust just incase and swap it back if you fail with modded set-up. Obviously, any mods to catalytic converter may be illegal, so this is FYI only and you do this at your own risk. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
