I just started to learn about Nissan 240sx's. How'd all of you get to know so much about 240sx's and their engines? Do you work on them, read about them, or what?

I learned about them from both working on friends 240's and reading about them in magazines, internet, etc. Also one day when I was at a friends house I was really bored so i picked up his Chilton's service manual for the S13 240 and I just started looking through it. I wasn't reading it page by page like a book, but I would just be curious about stuff as to what all needed to be done to do stuff like removing the pistons and other things.

Is the chilton's service manual the manual that comes with the 240sx? If it's not, where could I get one? I'm REALLY interested in learning about these cars.

LOL. I've learned a lot of my 240 knowledge from fellow AFers, and also from mags.. mainly SCC. I also read tons of web pages devoted to Silvias/180sx/240sx.

No, it's not the one that comes with the car. You can buy any manual on this car, wether it is a factory service manual or just some manual put together by another company (such as chiltons). If you have the store called autozone out by you then go to that because they have a lot of manuals that you can choose from. If you don't have autozone then almost any automotive store should carry these kind of manuals.
