87 f-150 no sparksbradford2k 01-22-2006, 05:53 PM i am working on an 87 f150 EFI, 300-6 i got it from a buddy of mine, it has good compression, good fuel pressure, but it has no spark, i changed the coil, module, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, pickup, ballast resistor, and borrowed a computer, still no spark, any ideas would be appriciated.... mechhound 01-23-2006, 12:46 AM Start at the beginning (well almost) first make sure you are getting current to the coil from the ignition switch. Unhook the connection on the coil with the 2 small wires hooked to it. One of the wires comes from the ignition switch, the other wire goes to the distributor. The one coming from the ignition switch, should light a test light with the ignition switch turned on. I would first perform this test, make sure your ignition switch is turned on and your test light has a good ground. Post back with any questions, I have owned (still own) a few Fords of this vintage and have gotten a good education on their ignition system. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
